Props 'n' Hops a Great Success

Almost four hundred people came to the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada to savour products from twenty Manitoba breweries, listen to music from the HMCS Chippawa Band, and enjoy a performance by Manitoba legend Al Simmons, all while supporting scholarships for air cadets.

The doors opened at 6:30 pm and the space under the wings of the museum's aircraft rapidly filled with supporters enjoying the ambience and tastes. Beers and ciders were supplemented with finger food and a social spread. The HMCS Chippawa Band played classic rock and pop songs throughout the evening.

Well known as a children's entertainer, Al Simmons performed a set featuring a few of his tunes, which had the crowd laughing and singing along. Al is a former air cadet, having recently (1960s) graduated from 170 RCACS.

A silent auction and a 50 / 50 draw were held towards the end of the evening, with twenty six prizes distributed. Thanks to all those who contributed items for the auction.

Thanks to all of the vendors who participated in our fifth annual Props 'n' Hops, and a special thanks to all of our volunteers who make this event possible.

Save the date for our next Props 'n' Hops, on Saturday 17 April 2027!
