Air Cadet of the Year Award

The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Air Cadet of the Year is selected annually and will be invited by the Royal Canadian Legion to act as a youth representative at the Annual National

Remembrance Day Ceremony in Ottawa.   This cadet will be an excellent ambassador for the Air Cadet movement.


Criteria:

  • Cadet must be at rank of Flight Sergeant and above

  • Cadet must be a cadet in good standing

  • Cadet must be able to travel to be in Ottawa on November 11

  • Cadet must be younger than 19 years old prior to November 11

  • Cadet and parent/guardian agrees to provide photograph for publicity purposes (press

release, newsletter, Facebook), promoting the award


Please complete the application form (Microsoft Word document) and attach the following:

1.  Copy of your most recent Transcript of Marks from either high school, college or

university

2.  Two character reference letters

3.  A narrative of approximately 300 words, expressing what the Air Cadet program has

done for you

4.  A narrative of approximately 300 words, outlining why you wish to serve as the Royal

Canadian Air Cadet representative at the National Remembrance Day Ceremony


  • Narratives will be screened for AI content and may be disqualified if deemed excessive


Submit the application form and the documents above to awards@aclmb.com no later than midnight CST Monday February 23rd, 2026.
