AIR CADET LEAGUE OF CANADA
Manitoba Provincial Executive Committee
IMMEDIATE PAST CHAIR
Mr. Dale Crouch, CD

Dale Crouch was born as the eldest of two sons to an RCAF fighter pilot at RCAF Station Marville, France (1 Wing). Growing up in a military family, Dale developed a strong sense of discipline and service, which he further nurtured by serving as an Air Cadet at 800 Black Forest Squadron in Lahr, Germany from 1972 to 1973.
Dale pursued higher education at Red River Community College in Winnipeg and later at the University of Manitoba. After completing his studies, he embarked on a career as a computer programmer, working in Winnipeg for four years. Following his marriage to Donna, the couple relocated to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, where Dale took a position with the Government of the NWT, employing his skills as a computer programmer, systems analyst, and internal consultant.
In 1986, Dale took a significant step in his career by founding Tamarack Computers Ltd. Under his leadership, the company flourished, employing thirteen additional staff by 2016. Dale's entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate various businesses, including real estate development ventures in British Columbia and the NWT, a computer business serving both regions, and a small chain of video rental stores based on Vancouver Island.
Dale’s commitment to community involvement was evident throughout his life. He first engaged with the Scout program alongside his sons, and later expanded his service by becoming involved in the Air Cadets with his daughter. Over 15 years, he contributed as a parent, volunteer, and officer with the 825 Yellowknife Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron, serving as Squadron Commanding Officer and participating with the Regional Cadet Support Unit (North). His dedication continued through influential roles in leadership and instruction for several summer camps in Whitehorse, Yukon, and in biathlon and marksmanship programs.
In 2007, Dale joined the Air Cadet League, where he played a pivotal role in revitalizing its presence in the three northern territories. He was instrumental in establishing the PTACC constitution, recruiting regional directors, and he served two terms as Territorial Chair and eight terms as Executive Director.
After retiring from his computer business in 2017, Dale and Donna settled in Winkler, Manitoba. His commitment to the Air Cadet League persisted, as he took on several roles within the Manitoba Provincial Committee, including Squadron Liaison, Senior Squadron Liaison, Webmaster, and Chair.
Dale and Donna are proud parents to three children: Robert, Carolyn, and James, and they are blessed with four grandchildren. Throughout his life, Dale has exemplified dedication to his family, community, and the youth in his care.
